FAQ

Versâtis, what is it?

It’s a worktop, available as an island, that invisibly integrates induction cooking: the feature is there but is hidden.

This lack of distinction between hob and worktop has led to significant changes in the way the entire kitchen is used:

  • The surface becomes multi-functional and encourages user-friendliness.
  • This user-friendliness is enhanced by the matte / soft-touch appearance of the surface, which has been modified compared to traditional glass-ceramic: the surface is fingerprint and scratch-resistant.
  • It is also very easy to clean.
  • Versâtis brings comfort: for instance, you can place anything anywhere on it without thinking, slide your pots around, and so on.

So, it’s a product for large spaces?

In large spaces, Versâtis, with its ultra-sleek surface, will be the perfect transition between the kitchen and the rest of the house.

It also brings great value to small spaces: the worktop surface used for cooking at one moment reverts to a classic worktop surface when cooking is done.

Regardless of the environment – large or small, classic or contemporary – Versâtis fits naturally and harmoniously.

OK. But I don’t know Versâtis and Eurokera; can I trust them?

Eurokera is not well-known to the general public, but it’s recognized by all appliance manufacturers worldwide!

Out of every five cooktops equipped with glass-ceramic surfaces sold worldwide, two come from Eurokera factories. A Eurokera glass-ceramic cooktop is bought every four seconds.

We are a global company of 1,000 employees, created 30 years ago by two iconic companies and leaders in their markets: the French Saint-Gobain and the American Corning (inventor of glass-ceramic), who remain nowadays the sole EuroKera’s shareholders.

Versâtis is very thin, only 6 mm thick. It’s aesthetically pleasing, but isn’t there a risk of breakage?

Glass-ceramic is a much more resistant material than its thickness might suggest. It’s not glass!

In its application for traditional household cooktops, the thickness is 4 mm. We sell millions of these each year.

Product returns are extremely rare, and when breakages do occur, they are due to inappropriate actions; you should indeed avoid dropping a cast-iron pot from a high cupboard, or climbing on it to change a lightbulb.

In the case of Versâtis, the surface extends over the entire worktop, and we have chosen the same thickness as that used for professional cooking : 6 mm. This is a guarantee of robustness.

This thickness provides designers with numerous possibilities for differentiation.

You say that Versâtis is highly scratch-resistant due to its special surface treatment: so can I cut directly on it?

Absolutely! But don’t do it!

When two very hard materials – here a knife and a worktop surface – are brought into contact, the softer one will deposit material onto the other: you will damage either your knife or your worktop.

Versâtis will win the battle with most stainless-steel knives, and if you do cut directly on it, you will then need to clean off the steel deposited on Versâtis. It’s not complicated, but it’s unnecessary.

Use a cutting board instead: it ensures your equipment remains intact.

And if you accidentally cut on Versâtis, don’t panic: nothing will happen in most cases. However, avoid repeated contact with ceramic knives, which are harder than steel.

Is Versâtis easy to maintain?

The surface of Versâtis has been developed not only to be visually and tactilely attractive but also to reduce maintenance to an absolute minimum.

Its resistance to aggressions of all kinds is very high, and the surface is very easy to clean.

Following the cleaning guidelines will keep the product looking like new (refer to the maintenance guide).

On a daily basis, a simple cleaning with a well-moistened sponge and a lint-free cloth will suffice in most cases.

Why is this a product that is only now coming to market?

Glass-ceramic is an extraordinary material, whose melting and transformation processes are highly specialized and constrained.

So it took time to overcome the technical challenges and transform a material previously used for cooktops into a large surface.

Technology was not the only reason for the development time.

Right from the start of this project, we wanted to include answers to as many user needs as possible. Versâtis is an attractive product because it was developed for its users, rather than solely based on technical constraints.

What you won’t see in Versâtis is not only the cooking tool, but also everything we have resolved beforehand to simplify your life.

We wish you a lot of fun using Versâtis.
